The installation of the CV Joint can be accomplished in just 11 simple steps.
1.Safely lift the vehicle, unscrew, and remove the tire
2. Gently tap the screw until it is fully removed from the check slot
on the hub. If there is a split pin, unscrew the nut after the
split pin has been removed.
3. Use long, flat nose pliers to remove the bolts on the swing arm. Unscrew the nut and
gently tap the ball pin until it releases from the swing arm. Unscrew and remove the triantebrachia. At this point the CV Axle should easily disengage and be freely removed.
4. Hammer the outer CV joint and gently tap the joint until it is removed from the hub.
5. Using a pry bar or similar, remove the inner CV Joint from the differential mechanism. Place a small
container below to preventing leaking.
6. Inspect the C-clip before installation, and compare in relation to the original product. Apply grease for easy installation. Axles with VL construction of inner CV Joint require grease to be injected before installation of the inner CV Joint.
7. Insert the inner CV joint into the receiving end of the differential mechanism, and wiggle the inner CV joint until the c-clip snaps into the differential mechanism. If necessary, hammer the end of the outer joint to drive the inner joint into the differential. Firmly shake the inner joint after installation,then attempt to remove the outer joint to test if the inner joint is properly installed.
8. Insert the outer CV joint into the hub and swing arm. Tighten the nuts on the ball. Insert the split pin.
9. Tighten the nut on the outer CV joint.
10. Place the nut back on the outer CV joint into the check slot and tighten. If necessary, put
the split pin into the thread. Only bend if it will prevent the nut from dropping out.
11. Place the tire back on the car and firmly tighten each nut.
